Well i think he hook wasn't strong to make reader to read his review.

What background does he give? 

He give a lot of background about the main actor in the movie and so much background about how the movie started and why the person created what he did.
Does Ebert discuss the film techniques? 

He don't give any film technigues.

Chaplin vs. Keaton

-Chaplin and Keaton both use music to get people into the movie. -Just like Chaplin, Keaton did his own thing. -Chaplin didn't use an script, but Keaton had to use an script. -Both of them make the "bad"guys to stick out from the rest of people in the movie. -Chaplin & Keaton were both silent actor. - Keaton used effect more than Chaplin did and he breaks the fourth wall. -
